Brandon Robinson is expected to return to the UNC Basketball team tonight after suffering an ankle injury a few weeks back

The North Carolina Tar Heels are getting some much-needed help to their starting lineup on Monday night in South Bend.

Just a few hours before the Tar Heels were set to tipoff against the Fighting Irish for the second time this year, news spread that senior Brandon Robinson was set to return. The team’s official Twitter account tweeted out the good news:

Robinson has missed the previous four games, all losses, as he was dealing with an ankle injury he suffered at the end of the loss to Boston College. The senior challenged a shot late and landed awkwardly on his ankle as the shooter jumped out to draw a bogus foul.

Since then, Robinson has been in a suit on the sidelines with the exception of last Saturday’s loss to Virginia.

With Robinson back, UNC gets a key piece of their rotation back. He will start on the wing with Cole Anthony, Leaky Black, Garrison Brooks and Armando Bacot also in the lineup. It’s one of the rare times this season UNC has had their starting five healthy.

Robinson also gives UNC another legit scoring option in their lineup. He’s averaging 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 41 percent from the field this season. That includes shooting 35 percent from the three-point line.
