One of the top recruiting targets for the UNC Basketball program has officially received an offer from the Tar Heels on Sunday night

The North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball program has officially sent out an offer to another five-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class.

After a few visits in the past two weeks between UNC and five-star recruit Harrison Ingram, the Tar Heels have officially offered the recruit. The forward announced via Twitter on Sunday night that he’s the latest prospect in 2021 to receive an offer from North Carolina.

Here is the message he posted on social media late Sunday night:

Ingram was on UNC’s campus in Chapel Hill a week ago for his unofficial visit, taking in the Tar Heels matchup with Duke on Saturday. He stayed on campus the remainder of the weekend to complete the unofficial visit with his family.

Then just a few days later, head coach Roy Williams and a staff member flew down to Dallas to watch Ingram’s high school team practice. It felt like it was only a matter of time before the Tar Heels offered the recruit and now it has officially happened.

Ingram is ranked as the No. 16 overall recruit, No. 5 small forward and No. 1 player in the state of Texas per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings. He has a total of 22 offers in his recruitment as programs like Stanford, Texas Tech, Baylor and Memphis among others have offered him.

The Tar Heels have a total of five offers out in the 2021 recruiting class with every one of those prospects being ranked in the Top 20. Ingram and five-star guard Kennedy Chandler appear to be the top recruiting targets for UNC in the class as they have shown a lot of mutual interest.
