The UNC women’s tennis team captured the National Indoor Championship by beating UCLA on Monday afternoon, their fourth title in program history
While we await the start of the outdoor portion of the NCAA tennis schedule in 2020, the North Carolina women’s program captured a pretty big achievement on Monday afternoon.
For the fourth time in program history, the Tar Heels won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National indoor championship and you can add another title to the university’s trophy case. UNC beat UCLA on Monday afternoon as Alexa Graham’s singles win sealed the deal for the Tar Heels, giving them another national title.

UNC punched their ticket to the title game for the sixth-consecutive season after sweeping rival Duke. Just a few days later, they took care of business against a really good UCLA team to win it all.
Things got off to a great start in doubles with Cameron Morra and Elizabeth Scotty defeating Abbey Forbes and Annette Goulak by a 6-2 score to earn win number one on the day for the Tar Heels. Following that, UNC got a win in singles as Makenna Jones defeated Annette Goulak 6-0, 6-2.
From there it was all Tar Heels.
UNC got a win from Elizabeth Scotty who defeated Abi Altick 6-4, 6-1 and then wrapped it all up with Alexa Graham beating Elysia Bolton 7-6 (4), 6-3. The Tar Heels are now 10-0 and have won the national indoor championship in 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2020.
