The UNC Basketball program could be without one of their best players when they take on Wake Forest Tuesday night

The injuries just seem to never end for the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program in this 2019-20 season. UNC has lost several key players for portions of this season including Cole Anthony, Brandon Robinson, Anthony Harris, and Jeremiah Francis.

Now they might be without a key post player after he suffered an injury in Saturday’s loss to Duke.

During overtime of that heartbreaking loss on Saturday, Brooks was poked in the eye and had to leave the game for a brief period of time. Brooks had to even leave the bench and get his eye looked at.

As we go into Tuesday’s matchup with Wake Forest, head coach Roy Williams updated Brooks status saying he didn’t practice on Sunday and his practice status for Monday is still in question per Inside Carolina’s Ross Martin:

Martin went on to note that Brooks eye was severely red while he was doing his postgame interviews on Saturday.

After struggling in losses to Boston College and Florida State last week, Brooks rebounded and played better in the loss to Duke. He scored 18 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and blocked two shots while shooting 75 percent from the field. On the year, Brooks is averaging 15 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists while playing in 36 minutes per game.

Brooks’ status will certainly be something to keep an eye on this week with this road game at Wake Forest and then a home game against Virginia on Saturday night.
