The UNC Football program sees three players earn a fourth-star in the final 247 Sports recruiting rankings for the 2020 class

We are just over a week away from National Signing Day as the rest of the 2020 football recruiting class will sign their letters of intent.  The North Carolina Tar Heels signed the majority of their 18th-ranked class during the early period and just await the letter from running back Elijah Burris.

In what was his first true recruiting class since being back at North Carolina, Mack Brown and his staff put together an impressive class.

On Tuesday, 247 Sports revealed their final rankings for 2020 and the Tar Heels were well-represented on the list of 247 players. UNC had nine in that top 349 including three players that were bumped up to four-star recruits.

Wide receiver Josh Downs, linebacker Cedric Gray and offensive tackle Cayden Baker were all elevated to four-star recruit status. They joined Desmond Evans, Ja’Qurious Conley, Kedrick Bingley-Jones, Jacolby Criswell, Myles Murphy, and Cameron Roseman-Sinclair as the other four-star recruits.

Five of the four-star recruits made the Top 247 with the other four being ranked after that.

Evans led the way for all UNC recruits ranking No. 92 but is No. 43 in the composite rankings which takes into account ESPN and Rivals. Conley is right behind him at No. 94 overall, giving UNC two Top 100 recruits.

Downs comes in at No. 118, Murphy at No. 161, and  Bingley-Jones at No. 202.

This should be it for UNC’s class with the exception of Burris as we don’t really expect many surprises on signing day. If Burris signs, UNC will have 26 members but if he doesn’t then the class will wrap up at 25.
