The UNC Football program added an intriguing recruit to their 2020 class on Tuesday night as a preferred walk on, adding to the kicking competition

The North Carolina Tar Heels have added another recruit to their 2020 football recruiting class on Tuesday.

Class of 2020 kicker and wide receiver Noah Burnette announced on Tuesday night that he is ending his recruitment and committing to North Carolina. The announcement was made on Twitter as he posted this message:

Burnette will join the 2019 class as a walk-on and compete in North Carolina’s kicking competition that will feature Noah Ruggles, Jonathan Kim and newly added graduate transfer Grayson Atkins this year. Atkins announced his decision to transfer earlier this week.

The Leesville product played both kicker and wide receiver in high school but will primarily join UNC as a kicker. He’s earned a five-star rating from Chris Sailer Kicking and was praised by the site as a kicker with a lot of upside for this class.

He earned All-Conference Special Teams MVP three times in his career and is excellent in both field goals and kicking off. You can view some of Burnette’s highlights here.

Burnette made two 50-plus yard field goals, caught a touchdown pass and even played defensive back for Leesville Road winning in a 30-24 at Cardinal Gibbons during the 2019 season. The recruit was a swiss army knife for Leesville during his four-year career and excelled at doing so.

The Tar Heels 2020 class is a total of 26 members before adding Burnette with all but one signed during the early signing period. In total, they will have 28 including Burnette and Atkins.
