Assistants from the UNC Basketball program will be on the road Tuesday night to watch a four-star recruiting target in the 2020 class

The North Carolina Tar Heels currently have a five-man 2020 recruiting class that is ranked No. 3 in the nation. Roy Williams and his staff have pretty much filled out their class with all five recruits signing but they aren’t closing the door on some possible additions.

Earlier on Tuesday we wrote about the Tar Heels’ and five-star target Ziaire Williams as he named UNC in final five. Although some believe North Carolina’s chances to land him aren’t very high, the Tar Heels haven’t ruled him out just yet.

Another recruit that is still on UNC’s radar is four-star shooting guard Kerwin Walton.

The Minnesota product caught the eyes of the Tar Heels months back and since then, he’s been on their radar and made a trip to Chapel Hill in late October. On Tuesday, the Tar Heels will be in Minnesota to visit Walton according to Jake Weingarten of Stock Riser’s:

Walton is ranked as the No. 97 overall player in the 2020 class per 247 Sports and is the No. 19 shooting guard in the class.

While UNC has five players signed to 2020, they are still lacking a dominant scoring wing to come in and make an impact right away. They do have two scoring guards in Caleb Love and R.J. Davis, however many feel like Williams could be the final piece to the puzzle. As for Walton, he could fit the role of a scoring guard giving the Tar Heels another option in their offense.

However, the main thing holding UNC back is the amount of scholarships pending someone leaving early for the NBA or transferring out. It will be something to keep an eye on as the Tar Heels continue to pursue Williams and Walton.
