It’s been a tough season for Roy Williams and the Tar Heels, but we’ve got five reasons that the UNC basketball program will be better in 2020.
The North Carolina Tar Heels are 8-9 on the season, and dead last in the ACC; that hasn’t been the case in a very long time. The last occasion in which the Tar Heels were under .500 they ended up winning the National Championship. That was during the 2004-05 season, and with a team that had a completely different make-up than this one. Nobody thinks that is going to be the result of this year’s team; not even the most ardent of fan.
After all, nothing is going right for current Tar Heels. They’ve battled adversity at every turn this year. They’ve battled injuries, inconsistency, inexperience, youth, even a car accident over the past three months. And although things may be ugly in Chapel Hill right now, but there are brighter days on the horizon.
It’s never too early to think about next year — particularly when that’s seemingly all you have to look forward to — so we’ve compiled a list of five reasons that the Tar Heels will be better in 2020
