Another UNC Football player enters the transfer portal this week after a successful season for the Tar heels

With the North Carolina Tar Heels finishing 7-6 and a big bowl win over Temple in the first year of Mack Brown’s second stint, the spirits are high going into 2020. Despite this, the Tar Heels have seen their fair-share of players enter the transfer portal over the recent weeks.

However, it’s not usually a big deal as this tends to happen with a new head coach coming in and taking over the program with players he didn’t recruit.  On Monday, another player entered the transfer portal for North Carolina and it’s another tight end.

Per Inside Carolina, redshirt junior tight end Noah Turner has officially entered the transfer portal marking the ninth player to enter the portal and second tight end. Only one of those nine players has actually committed to a program with quarterback Cade Fortin going to USF.

Joining Turner in the portal is Carl Tucker, Greg Ross, J.T. Cauthen, Roscoe Johnson, Corey Bell, Brant Lawless-Sherrill, and Jonathan Smith.

Turner finished the 2019 season with 0 catches as he primarily played on special teams and as a blocking tight end in the run game. The redshirt junior was on the depth chart behind Tucker and Jake Bargas.

None of the those three tight ends will be on the roster for the 2020 season. UNC will return Kamari Morales as a redshirt freshman as well as welcome in two tight ends in the 2020 class in John Copenhaver and Kendall Karr. It will certainly be a position to watch next season.
