UNC Basketball senior Brandon Robinson was involved in a small car accident on Saturday night and it is unknown if he will practice this week.

It’s been one heck of a season for the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program and it feels like things continue to go down hill.

UNC is 8-8 overall and have lost three-straight games, all at home in the Dean Dome. On top of it, they saw their 59-game home win streak over Clemson fall on Saturday.

It’s been tough sledding for UNC this season and they have dealt with some big injuries to their rotation including star freshman guard Cole Anthony. In addition to Anthony, UNC has also lost Anthony Harris to a season-ending injury and backup point guard Jeremiah Francis has been dealing with a injury as well.

In their absences, it’s been junior Garrison Brooks and senior Brandon Robinson stepping up to fill the scoring void. Robinson scored a career-high in the loss to Clemson on Saturday but shortly after the game, some more bad luck struck.

Per a North Carolina release, Robinson was involved in a small car accident in Carrboro around midnight.

The report also states that Robinson was not seriously injured in the car accident but it is unknown if he will practice this week. The Tar Heels have a long week off before returning to action this Saturday morning at Pitt.

Head coach Roy Williams commented on the situation briefly during the Monday morning teleconference that he hosts every week. Here is what he said on the matter:

“B-Rob is not feeling real good and I think we’ve got to wait and see how things go there,” Williams said.

We should know a lot more on Robinson’s status later in the week when Williams addresses the media ahead of Saturday’s game.

Next. Clemson's historic streak is over. dark
