UNC Basketball: Top 2021 target set to cut list

A class of 2021 UNC Basketball recruiting target will cut his list soon, naming his top teams as he provides an update to his recruitment

The North Carolina Tar Heels have yet to land a commit in their 2021 recruiting class as they have put together an impressive one for 2020. Roy Williams and his staff have just a few offers out for that 2021 class but one player remains their top target.

Five-star point guard Kennedy Chandler has emerged as a top target for UNC as he received an offer from the program just a few months back. After receiving that offer, Chandler has since picked up offers from Duke and Kentucky. Landing those three from Blue Blood programs could have a significant impact on his recruitment.

Chandler has remained mum for the most part on who are his leaders in the recruitment but that appears to change.

The recruit tweeted out on Sunday afternoon that he is set to update his recruitment and cut his list of teams down in the coming days:

Chandler currently has a total of 27 offers in his recruitment and has taken three official visits with two more coming in February. He also plans on unofficially visiting both UNC and Duke before his recruitment is up.

With his list being cut, it would shock us at this point to not see UNC included. I think it’s a safe bet that the Tar Heels will be on that top teams list and then have their chance to impress him with an on campus visit next month.
