A class of 2020 UNC Basketball commit reached a big milestone in his high school career over the weekend and his hot play continues

North Carolina commit R.J. Davis is quietly flying under the radar as one of the more underrated guards in the 2020 recruiting class. He’s also one of the more underrated prospects in UNC’s class that features three other five-star recruits and four-star win Donovan “Puff” Johnson.

Davis is off to a fantastic start in his final year at Archbishop Stepinac High School in New York, performing well at a few different tournaments early on.

But on Friday, Davis reached a milestone at the  Crusader Classic at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. The four-star combo guard reached the 2,000-point mark for his high school career in the 62-54 win over Iona Prep. Davis also moved up the all-time Westchester County scoring list in the process:

Davis still has a lot of season left in his senior year and if he continues his hot play, we could see him climb the recruiting rankings when 2020 is updated. He’s been a dynamic guard that can not only dish out assists but score from almost anywhere on the field.

The recruit will be an interesting player going into his freshman season next year at UNC, joining Jeremiah Francis, Anthony Harris, Rechon Black and fellow 2020 commit Caleb Love in the backcourt.  The Tar Heels are struggling with backcourt production this season but there are some reinforcements coming in next year. Per Adam Zagoria, Davis has his eyes set on a starting role for the Tar Heels.

If he keeps this up, he will certainly have his shot.
