Tier 1 Teams:

3.  Florida State Seminoles

What excites me about this team is how their top scorer averages less than twelve points an outing. Every game for the Seminoles is a different story. Someone different is the hero on a nightly basis. It makes for Seminole games to be unique, and have more value. Florida State is on a five-game win streak at the moment, is playing well and appears locked in for conference play to get underway. This team may not be the favorite at the moment, but will contend all year long.

2. Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals are coming off a loss, but it came at the hands of a very talented Kentucky team. Louisville is another well-rounded squad with the potential to cut down some nets this year. Junior Jordan Nwora has been as good as anyone in the conference, and if his goal is to be in contention for ACC Player of the Year, then he’s well on his way. He’s made another major jump in his game this year, and he’s currently the leading scorer in the conference. Expect Louisville to hang around the top of the league all year.

Next. More bad news for the UNC basketball program. dark

1. Duke Blue Devils

Duke has been the best team in the conference so far. It’s not even a question at this point. This team is so deep and loaded with talent, and outside of the embarrassing loss to SF Austin, they’ve been great. With big wins against Kansas and at Michigan State, this team looks as legitimate as any team in the NCAA. With freshman center Vernon Carey Jr. at the helm, and sophomore guard Tre Jones as his side, this team’s ceiling reaches all the way to early April.
