Tier 5 Teams:

15. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

These Yellow Jackets aren’t going to be anything exceptional, to say it kindly. A team that’s ranked 353rd in offensive production and 137th in defensive efficiency usually doesn’t make it very far. This team probably wouldn’t compete in many conferences around the country, and it’s just too bad they have to play in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets may win a game or two against the other bottom feeders of the league, but don’t be too surprised if they don’t manage to pull that off. This isn’t the year Georgia Tech turns the program around, but hey, there’s always next year.

14. Clemson Tigers

Let’s take a moment and celebrate the Clemson Football team who is playing in the National Championship in a week or so, because this basketball team probably won’t even get a whiff of the NIT. This team has been awful on offense, almost dead-last in the nation for points scored. And it makes sense why. Nobody is shooting well for the Tigers, and there is no standout individual that’s talented enough to win games for this team. At the end of the day, don’t expect much from this basketball team as conference play moves into full swing.

13. Wake Forest Demon Deacons

This will definitely not be the year of the Demon Deacons. This team doesn’t score really well, because the pieces just aren’t there for Wake Forest. This team is terrible at sharing the ball, and it shows in their assist production. And it doesn’t help that nobody is shooting the ball with excellence. Senior guard Brandon Childress may win them a few games against the bottom of the conference, but there’s nothing to talk about for Wake Forest. A bottom-of-the-pack finish is almost a guarantee for the Demon Deacons, so if you thought otherwise going into this season… I’m sorry.
