No. 5: 2015 Class

Luke Maye and Kenny Williams

This was just a two-man class, but both went on to have terrific careers in a North Carolina uniform.

Starting off their careers like any player would love, the duo of Luke Maye and Kenny Williams went to back-to-back National Championship games, going 1-1. While neither played much of a role for the 2016 runner-up, they both had big roles for the National Championship team.

Kenny Williams was a starter for most of the first half of his sophomore season, known as a three-and-d wing, but saw his season come to an end with a knee injury halfway through the season. Throughout his final two seasons, he was a staple in the UNC lineup and became one of the hardest, if not the hardest, worker on the team, molding himself into a fan favorite.

Making plays that wouldn’t shot up in the box score, he became a terrific leader both on and off the court for the future classes to come through the program while he was there.

For Luke Maye, he will forever be remembered for his game-winning shot against Kentucky in the 2017 Elite Eight, to help the Tar Heels advance back to the Final Four. He not only went on to become a First-Team All-ACC selection as well as Third-Team All-American during his junior season, and ended his final two seasons averaging a double-double.

Overall, both players won a National Championship, went to two National Title games, and a Sweet 16 appearance in their four years in Chapel Hill, becoming  one of the most decorated duo in UNC history.
