UNC Basketball: Ranking the 10 recruiting classes of the decade
By Alec Lasley
The UNC basketball program has had a lot of talent come through the program in the past 10 years, but which class takes home the honor as the best?
As 2019 comes to an end, the UNC basketball program has had, yet again, another terrific decade to add to the hoops history in Chapel Hill.
Roy Williams continues to add to his Hall of Fame legacy and still shows the fire and passion he had when he first arrived in 2004.
His success wouldn’t have been the same without a lot of the talent that came through the program in the past nearly 20 years, but especially the last 10 years. Nearly 100 players have put on a Carolina uniform in the past decade, and while all of them have contributed to the success of the program, some have done more than others.
Guys like Harrison Barnes, Marcus Paige, and Joel Berry have etched their names in UNC history, adding to the long list of players that have put together great careers.
While it’s always the expectation and goal to compete and win National Championships for North Carolina, only one team did that in the 2010’s.
As we turn the page on the last 10 years and look forward to 2020 and more, the last 10 recruiting classes that Roy Williams brought to Chapel Hill, definitely had a huge impact on the program.
With that, we rank the 10 recruiting classes of the decade, based on talent, stats, and legacy that they left in Chapel Hill.
