The UNC Football program will sign their 2020 recruiting class this week as the Early Signing Period begins on December 18th

As the North Carolina Tar Heels prepare for their upcoming bowl game vs. Temple next week, Mack Brown and his staff are about to sign their 2020 recruiting class.

The National Signing Day period will officially open on December 18th, allowing schools to sign committed recruits early on during the three-day period. UNC will sign their second class under Brown but it will be their first true class that Brown has recruited in his second tenure with the team.

UNC currently has 25 players verbally committed to their 2020 class and Brown expects all of them to sign during this period. It will be a busy day for the Tar Heels beginning early on Wednesday morning.

Leading the way for UNC’s class is four-star defensive end Desmond Evans. He was a five-star recruit when he signed with UNC but since then, 247 Sports has bumped him down. Evans is still ranked as the No. 32 overall player in the 2020 class and is a huge get for the Tar Heels.

The Tar Heels will sign 7 four-star recruits and 18 three-star recruits in their class. Defensive tackle Clyde Pinder is another three-star recruit verbally committed but has shown interest in Florida as of late.

It’s unknown when Pinder will sign his Letter of Intent or what school.

Headlining the class on offense is four-star quarterback Jacolby Criswell. He’s the No. 11 dual-threat quarterback in the class and after flirting a bit with in-state Arkansas, it appears as if Criswell will indeed sign with UNC. Four-star wide receiver Josh Downs is also a key player on offense as the wide receiver is ranked No. 36 at his position.

UNC’s class currently stands at No.17 overall and No. 3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. It’s still predicted to finish in the Top 20 when this three-day period is over but don’t expect it to move up as there aren’t really any candidates for surprise signings.
