A recruiting analyst praises a five-star UNC Basketball commit for the 2020 class as he begins his senior year of high school

Five-star guard Caleb Love won’t be on North Carolina’s campus until next Summer but already he’s earning some national praise.

Love is one of five players committed to UNC’s 2020 recruiting class which ranks No. 2 overall on 247 Sports and includes three five-star recruits. He was the third player to commit to the class following in line of Day’Ron Sharpe and Walker Kessler.

With Love committed, Roy Williams and his staff added a dynamic playmaker to their backcourt with the expectation that Cole Anthony will leave after just one season in Chapel Hill. They would also later add R.J. Davis to the class as well, giving them a very talented backcourt.

But before Love plays at UNC, he’s receiving some praise.

Rivals recruiting analysts Eric Bossi, Corey Evans, Dan McDonald wrote about Love in their latest basketball recruiting roundtable released on Saturday as they were each asked which recruit best fills the void of the team they are committed to. Evans picked Love and wrote about how he can fill up the box score on any given night:

"Caleb Love for North Carolina. The Tar Heels are going to have to find a replacement for Cole Anthony, who looks to be a high-end lottery selection in June’s NBA Draft. Fortunately for Roy Williams, he got another good one in Love. A ferocious competitor that might not be as quick as Coby White, Love could be more explosive around the basket and off of his first step, and just like Anthony, can fill up the box score."

While UNC fans may just be enjoying Anthony now, and they should, Love will be another fun recruit to watch when he gets on campus. The dynamic with him, R.J. Davis and current Tar Heel Anthony Harris will give the program a legit backcourt for next season.

Love is set to begin his senior year of high school ball at Christian Brothers College in Saint Louis, Missouri. He will be one to watch this season before he joins the Tar Heels.

Next. Cole Anthony's impressive start. dark
