Some more praise pours in for UNC Basketball commit Day’Ron Sharpe after his performance at the USA Basketball camp over the weekend

Five-star center Day’Ron Sharpe was the first recruit to commit to the North Carolina Tar Heels in their 2020 class.

Since Sharpe’s commitment in June of 2018, the Tar Heels have been able to land two more five-star recruits giving them the No. 3 class for 2020 here in October. UNC can still land a few more recruits with offers out to some prospects as decision days loom ahead of December’s Early Signing Period.

But as time has gone on, Sharpe has really elevated his game and is turning into one of the better players in the 2020 class.

He was just a four-star recruit when he committed over a year ago but since then he’s elevated to a five-star and is now the No. 17 overall player per 247 Sports.  Sharpe has been able to gain some attention by playing well in High School, on the AAU circuit and in camps.

Over this past weekend, Sharpe participated in the Team USA camp out in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he impressed some recruiting analysts. We wrote on Sharpe’s day Saturday where he caught the eye of a few analysts. Now just a few days later, Rivals reporters Eric Bossi and Corey Evans gave their takes on the camp with a few fun superlatives for players who participated in the camp.

The duo spotlighted Sharpe as the player to “Most Likely to Intimidate as a Freshman” next season. Here is what they wrote on Sharpe and that superlative:

"North Carolina-bound Day’Ron Sharpe already looks and plays like a grown man. He was easily the most physically intimidating interior big men of the older players. With his big frame, broad shoulders and the way he keeps getting bigger and stronger, Sharpe looks like the rare big man who will be able to dominate physically and with his skill as soon as he arrives on campus. Roy Williams has coached a lot of great big men during his time, but not many who have been the type of physical monsters that Sharpe should be for the Heels."

That’s some pretty good stuff right there on Sharpe and coordinates with exactly what we heard about his game lately. He’s turning into a dominant rebounder and could become one of the best big men in the country when it’s all said and done.

Let’s be happy he’s committed to UNC.
