The UNC Football program will be a favorite going into Saturday for the second-straight game on the road as they look to keep pace in the Coastal Division

The North Carolina Tar Heels were able to end a three-game losing streak in Week 6 by beating Georgia Tech on the road. The win moved UNC to 3-3 on the year and now, as we enter Week 8 the Tar Heels will be in a tie for first place.

UNC is now tied with Virginia and Duke in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division with a 2-1 record. The Tar Heels have beaten Miami and Georgia Tech while losing to Clemson. In Week 7, Duke beat the Yellow Jackets while Virginia was upset by Miami.

As we go into next week, the Tar Heels will hit the road and look to make it two-straight in the ACC and keep pace atop the division. But a tough road environment in Blacksburg awaits them and so does a Virginia Tech team that is 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the ACC.

UNC will enter that game as the favorites, however according to the Vegas line released on Sunday afternoon. The early lines have the Tar Heels as 3.5-point favorites which really mens UNC is almost a touchdown better. Vegas tends to factor in three points for the home team as a “home field advantage” in the betting world.

Last season the Tar Heels were almost able to pull off the upset on a ranked Hokies team in Chapel Hill and now they have their first chance at some revenge. More importantly, they can bury the Hokies even more in the Coastal race and force a tie with either Duke or Virginia as those two teams play each other.
