UNC Basketball recruit Caleb Love is standing out early at the Team USA Minicamp being held in Colorado during this weekend

Some of the top recruits in the country are in Colorado Springs, Colorado this weekend for the USA Basketball Minicamp.  Team USA will host practices all three days this weekend with sessions in the morning and evening.

The North Carolina Tar Heels will be represented for the Class of 2020 with two recruits participating in the minicamp as Caleb Love and Day’Ron Sharpe were named to the roster for the event. Both are five-star prospects and commits of UNC, joining Walker Kessler in the three-man class so far.

Target Bryce Thompson is also participating as his recruitment appears to be coming to an end sooner rather than later. But as practice began on Friday, one UNC recruit was already standing out.

Love received some praise from both national and UNC analysts during Friday’s session for his play so far at the camp:

A good showing over these next three days should help Love’s stock in recruiting rankings as he could make a jump on the next update. The 6-foot-3 point guard is a dynamic scorer that will add another element to UNC’s offense when he arrives in 2020 and will help fill a big void on the perimeter.

The Tar Heels aren’t done yet for 2020 either as they hope to add some more talent with Thompson possibly being a player that could commit before the early signing period.

In total, close to 85 prospects from the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 classes are expected to participate in the minicamp.
