UNC Basketball target and five-star guard Caleb Love will make his decision between the Tar Heels and Missouri Tigers on Tuesday evening

It’s finally decision day for Caleb Love.

The five-star point guard out of the state of Missouri will finally make his college decision with an announcement on Tuesday night, ending his recruitment once and for all. Love recently trimmed his list down to just two teams and will pick between North Carolina and in-state Missouri on Tuesday night.

Love got down to his two finalists after cutting both Kansas and Louisville just over a week ago, signaling the end of his recruitment. The No. 21 ranked player in the 2020 class will be the latest five-star player to commit to a program as the commitments are starting to roll in early for this particular class ahead of the Early Signing Period in November.

For the Tar Heels, they are hoping to pull Love out of the Midwest and add another five-star recruit to their already impressive 2020 class that features center Day’Ron Sharpe and power forward Walker Kessler.  Adding Love would bump UNC’s class up in the rankings from where they currently stand now at No. 9.

The five-star visited UNC the weekend of September 20th, taking his official visit the same weekend as Kessler who committed to the Tar Heels shortly after.

When it was announced that Love was down to two right away the Tar Heels were mentioned as the favorite to land him. UNC quickly picked up some Crystal Ball predictions on 247 Sports including one from lead analyst Evan Daniels.

When Daniels logs a prediction, he’s usually spot on which means good news for the Tar Heels come Tuesday night. However, it may not be a done deal. Love told Jason Jordan of the USA Today that Tuesday’s decision will be a tough one as he sees a fit for him at both programs.

"“It’s not gonna be an easy decision for me,” said Love, who is ranked No. 24 in USA Today Sports’ Chosen 25 for 2020. “I knew it would be tough, but I didn’t know how tough. It’s hard when you can’t go wrong either way.”“Both are great schools with great coaches and fans,” Love said. “It’s just really gonna come down to what’s best for me at the end of the day. I’m 50-50 on it.”"

Love does have a fit at both spots and with Cole Anthony likely being a one-and-done this year, UNC needs someone at the point guard position. His gameplay will transfer well with Roy Williams’ system which lets the guards push the ball up the floor. It seems to be a perfect match.

Prediction

Going into this announcement, everything that we have heard and learned is that the Tar Heels are likely the favorites and it would be an upset to hear Missouri’s name being called on Tuesday night.

But it is college recruiting and stranger things have happened. Still, as we make our prediction we are going to have to go with the Tar Heels on this one
