The UNC Basketball program is hosting some big visitors for Friday night’s Late Night With Roy event in the Dean E. Smith Center

While the North Carolina Tar Heels held their first practice for the 2019-20 college basketball season on Thursday, the year unofficially tips off this Friday night.

The University will host their annual “Late Night With Roy” on Friday night in what could be a huge weekend on campus. Not only will the Tar Heels begin the celebration for the upcoming basketball season but the football team will host No. 1 and defending national champion Clemson.

It all begins Friday night in the Dean E. Smith Center with doors opening at 6:30 and festivities beginning at 8 p.m. Fans will get to enjoy some skits, dances, a skills competition and even a scrimmage as they get their first look at the upcoming UNC Basketball team. But that’s not all.

This event is also a big recruiting one for the Tar Heels.

Over the years, several big recruits have been in attendance for the event as UNC likes to use this as a big recruiting event. Friday night will be no different as UNC is scheduled to host five recruits during the event.

The following recruits are expected to be present for Late Night With Roy:

  • 2020 5-star PF Ziaire Williams (OFFICIAL)
  • 2020 5-star SG Cade Cunningham (OFFICIAL)
  • 2020 5-star C Day’Ron Sharpe (OFFICIAL) (COMMITTED)
  • 2020 5-star PF Greg Brown (OFFICIAL)
  • 2021 5-star PF Paolo Banchero (OFFICIAL)

For some of these recruits, this won’t be their first time on campus. Williams, Sharpe and Brown have all visited before this official visit. Cunningham and Banchero will be making their first visits to Chapel Hill in their recruitments.

With Walker Kessler and Sharpe both signed to the 2020 class, the chance to add at least one more if not two five-star recruits still looms. Williams and his staff would love to reel in a big class and Friday night’s visits could go a long way in helping that cause.

Will 5-star prospect stay on the West Coast?. dark. Next
