The UNC Football program will play UCF three times from 2020 to 2027 as the Knights moved back the 2024 game

Despite being 2-2 and coming off two-straight losses to in-state opponents, things appear to be trending up for the North Carolina Tar Heels Football program.

In the second stint under Mack Brown, the Tar Heels have beaten South Carolina and Miami before suffering those two losses in the past two weeks. UNC will take on No. 1 and defending National Champion Clemson this weekend, which will be a HUGE test for Brown’s squad.

While there is still a lot of football left to be played in 2019, the Tar Heels are putting together some future schedules for the program.

On Tuesday, UCF announced some future dates with the Tar Heels on their schedule including moving the 2024 matchup in Chapel Hill to 2027 instead. The two teams will meet three times from 2020 to 2027.

If you remember, last season the two teams were supposed to play one another in Week 3 but Hurricane Florence forced the game to be cancelled. UCF went unbeaten in the regular season in 2018 but lost to LSU in the Fiesta Bowl. A year prior, they self-claimed the National Championship finishing unbeaten with a bowl win over No. 7 Auburn.

The Knights entered last weekend’s matchup vs. Pitt 3-0 and were hoping for some national respect again. But the Panthers were able to upset UCF at home, ending their regular season win streak.

For UNC, they will play at UCF on September 5, 2020 and then at a neutral site against Auburn a week later. The 2020 schedule is shaping up to be a tough one for the Tar Heels but with a year under the belt in the second Mack Brown stint, it will be good to see how they stack up against tough opponents.
