The UNC Football program will open up as big underdogs when they host No. 1 Clemson on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill

After starting the season 2-0 with wins over South Carolina and Miami, the Tar Heels have hit a road block, dropping two-straight to Wake Forest and Appalachian State. Getting those key wins early on the season look even bigger now because following Saturday’s loss to the Mountaineers, the schedule gets a little tougher.

The No. 1 team in the nation and defending national champion Clemson comes into Chapel Hill for a Saturday afternoon showdown with the Tar Heels. UNC will look to avoid dropping three-straight and get back over .500 while Clemson looks to continue their dominance this season.

This won’t be an easy task by any means for the Tar Heels and if they want to pull off the historic upset, they will need their A+ game and much more.

As we prepare for Saturday’s showdown, the lines for the game have been set in Vegas and the Tar Heels are heavy underdogs. UNC will enter that game as 28.5 point underdogs vs. the Tigers, a four-touchdown spread.

The Tigers are 3-1 against the spread so far this season, failing to cover Week 2 vs. Texas A&M at home despite winning that game. They have covered against Georgia Tech, Syracuse and Charlotte.

As for the Tar Heels, they are 2-2 against the spread and have failed to cover in their past two games which have been losses to Wake Forest and Appalachian State. It might be tough for the Tar Heels to cover again on Saturday despite the big spread, especially if they get off to a slow start like they have the previous two games.
