A top UNC Basketball recruiting target in the 2020 class has trimmed his list down to four after canceling a visit this past weekend

The race for five-star point guard Caleb Love is starting to heat up as the finish line could soon be approaching.

The Missouri native scheduled official visits to five of his top six schools and has begun taking those visits to schools. He took a visit to in-state Missouri on the weekend of September 7th and then was scheduled to head to Bloomington, Indiana to visit the Hoosiers this past weekend.

But before he did that, Love made a big update to his recruitment.

Love cancelled his official visit to Indiana this past weekend, eliminating them from his list along with Arizona. The recruit is now officially down to four schools with Missouri, North Carolina, Kansas and Louisville making the cut.

Ben Frederickson of the St. Louis Dispatch caught up with Love to discuss his recruitment and included the news of the recruit cutting his list last week:

"It’s been cut to four finalists, according to the young man who is in charge of the cutting.Offered a chance to set the record straight about his recruitment, Love said he will eventually pick between Missouri, Kansas, Louisville and North Carolina. An official visit that was planned for Indiana has been canceled. The Hoosiers, like the Arizona Wildcats, are out of the race."

With Love cutting his list down to four, the Tar Heels have to feel good about their chances to land him going into his official visit this weekend. There have been a few reports that the Tar Heels are one of the favorites along with Louisville that have surfaced over the past week.

But as time goes on, Missouri and head coach Cuonzo Martin are rumored to be making up some ground.  The Tar Heels are the only non-Midwest team in his top four and the recruit grew up a UNC fan which could work to their advantage.

Love also told Frederickson that he plans on making a decision about his college before his senior year of high school basketball starts this Fall. That means we will likely see a decision sometime in October ahead of the Early Signing Period.
