The UNC Football team will go with a “Storm Trooper” look for their first road game of the season at Wake Forest on Friday night

The North Carolina Tar Heels are hitting the road for their first true road game of the 2019 season and a 3-0 start is on the line.

UNC will match up with longtime rival Wake Forest in Winston-Salem in a rare Friday night showdown that will not be a conference game for the foes. Instead, it will count as just a regular season game with the winner moving to 3-0 and the loser dropping to 2-1.

The Tar Heels have shocked a lot of people so far this year, beating South Carolina in Week 1 and then Miami in their home opener a week ago. The schedule gets a little tougher for the Tar Heels starting with Friday.

After Friday’s game, UNC will host a good Appalachian State team at home and then No. 1 and defending champion Clemson after that. But first the Tar Heels need to beat Wake Forest on the road.

When UNC does take the field on Friday night, they will do it in a crisp all-white uniform combination for the first time all season. The official equipment account on Twitter revealed the news just a day ago:

This is the first time the Tar Heels have gone with the “Storm Trooper” look this season and the last time they wore it since Week 8 of the 2018 season when they played at Syracuse. UNC also wore the all-white combo in Week 7 at home vs. Virginia Tech.

Here is a look at the tracker for this season:

Week 2 vs. MiamiBlue helmet, blue jersey, white pants

While the Tar Heels will look good with that awesome “Storm Trooper” look, let’s hope they can get a big win on Friday night.
