The UNC Basketball program will host one of the top players in the 2020 recruiting class during their annual Late Night With Roy event in September

The North Carolina Tar Heels will be receiving several visits from prospects on their class of 2020 recruiting board over the next few months as schedules have started to roll in.

One of the top prospects in the class and on UNC’s big board is five-star guard Cade Cunningham who is the No. 2 overall player per 247 Sports. Cunningham recently trimmed his list down to five schools and now he’s ready to take visits to all five of them.

The 6-foot-6 guard announced on Thursday that he has officially scheduled five visits to his finalists, including the Tar Heels.

Cunningham will be in Chapel Hill the weekend of September 27th for his official visit with the Tar Heels per Rivals reporter Corey Evans. The recruit will be on campus for the annual “Late Night With Roy” event which unofficially tips off the upcoming season. In addition to that, UNC’s football team will host defending champion Clemson the next night inside Kenan Memorial Stadium.

While the Tar Heels are in the running, many believe that Oklahoma State and Kentucky could be the leaders for this recruitment. His brother was recently hired as an assistant on the Cowboys’ staff and the program will get the first visit on September 12th.

Kentucky will host on October 13th for “Big Blue Madness” and Florida will host him the weekend before on October 5th. Washington is the program that will get the last visit for Cunningham on October 20th.

Cunningham is expected to make his decision sometime in 2019  after he takes his visits and will likely sign during the Early Signing Period. Will UNC be able to win him over with their visit?
