Isaiah Todd

"“At one point in time last fall, the idea that Isaiah Todd could move into the 2019 class was a distinct possibility,” Evans writes. “Instead, he decided to remain in the 2020 class. He recently cut his school list to Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan and North Carolina. Todd has already visited Kentucky and UNC and will likely visit all five of his finalists before coming to a decision.  Kentucky and UNC have recruited him for the longest, so they have the inside track, but Kansas is not too far behind. Memphis and Michigan are the newest entrants into his recruitment, but with former NBA stars running each program, Todd may be intrigued. A commitment is not expected any time soon, and while there have been whispers of a potential move to a pro league next year, Todd has remained steadfast that he will enroll in college next fall. UK and UNC are his top two landing spots.”"

Evans mentions what we’ve assumed for quite some time; that Kentucky and North Carolina are the favorites in Isaiah Todd’s recruitment. For as long as the Tar Heels have been recruiting Todd, though, it seems like Kentucky has the edge in his recruitment.

Does a player of Todd’s caliber want to join a UNC front court next season that could potentially boast a senior Garrison Brooks, a sophomore Armando Bacot and a 5-star freshman in Day’Ron Sharpe? Kentucky, who I ultimately like to earn Todd’s commitment, will most likely have roster spots and playing time available next year, what with an almost unending carousel of 5-star recruits turned NBA lottery picks each year.

Current projections in Todd’s Crystal Ball have Kentucky as the favorite, garnering 50 percent of the votes from recruiting analysts and insiders. North Carolina is in second-place with 17 percent of the vote, while Kansas and North Carolina State — who is no longer in the running — each have eight percent of predictions.

The 6-foot-10, 200-pound power forward out of Richmond, Virginia is ranked No. 14 in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite. A senior at Word of God Christian Academy, Todd is ranked second among players at his position, and No. 1 in the state of Virginia.
