NC State Wolfpack

Is this even a rival?

Let’s be real, here. The Wolfpack have won just three times in this decade, and 14 of the 22 matchups in that time frame have seen North Carolina winning by double digits. There’s even a 51-point throttling in the mix as well. Most true rivals don’t let the other beat them by 51.

The main reason they are included here is because Wolfpack fans really think they are a true rival, and quite honestly, it’s a bit funny. But it’s also annoying. And because of that, Tar Heel fans don’t like them.

NC State hasn’t won two games in a row in this matchup since 2003. Almost 17 seasons have passed, and NC State has actually gone winless in the season series 13 times.

Again, Wolfpack fans still think they are the Tar Heels’ rivals. And it annoys just about every UNC fan to hear that.

That’s why UNC fans hate them.
