UNC basketball fans would have loved to see these 10 recruits in a North Carolina uniform

We’ve all had at least one that just got away. But think about college basketball programs that are swinging and missing on high school prospects every single season. Big-name college hoops programs, in particular, are going after the best of the best, and those players often turn into some of the game’s greatest players.

Some recruiting battles are quickly forgotten, while others reverberate in the minds of fans for years to come. Namely, the recruitments that take place between two in-state schools or bitter rivals, or ones where a player spurns his hometown school in favor of another.

Every team and coach has had its fair share of misses on the recruiting trail, and it’s something that they just have to put behind them and move on. But at Keeping It Heel we like to think about worthless what-ifs and could’ve-beens during the slow summer months. So, we’ve compiled a list of 10 high school basketball players that the UNC basketball program recruited, but simply couldn’t get into a Tar Heel uniform when all was said and done.

There are obviously far more than 10, so let us know how you feel about our list, and which former UNC basketball targets would be on yours.
