Two recent offers went out to UNC basketball targets on Wednesday and there could be a possible package deal linked between them.

Roy Williams and the UNC basketball staff have changed up their recruiting ways as of late, extending offers to many talented prospects early on in their recruitment, as opposed to waiting to develop more of a relationship, which may have hurt him with a couple of players in the past.

With the Tar Heels maintaining a large pipeline of DMV players coming to Chapel Hill such as Ty Lawson, Nate Britt, Kenny Williams, James Michael McAdoo, PJ Hairston, Kendall Marshall, Ed Davis, and Marcus Ginyard, there could be a good chance that the Heels keep that up in the 2020 class.

DeMatha High School teammates Earl Timberlake and Hunter Dickinson both received offers on Wednesday from Roy Williams and could be the next great DMV players to wear the Carolina Blue.

Coach Williams has put a huge emphasis on big men in the 2020 class, and offering early, after seeing what a thin, and smaller frontline was like this past season. Dickinson is just the opposite of thin and small. The 7-foot-2, 255-pound center is your traditional big man who loves to take up space in the paint. His advanced ball skills already have him ahead of the curve for most bigs his age. With soft hands, he has a versatile skill set that allows him to play with his back to the basket, but also face up.

Louisville, Notre Dame, Providence, and Purdue are the competition for the Tar Heels as all four have received official visits, but UNC is a real threat to all of them.

For Timberlake, despite being a top-30 prospect, his recruitment has just taken off with recent offers from NC State, Miami, and others in addition to North Carolina. The 6-foot-6 wing is as built as you can be as a rising senior in high school, also weighing 225 pounds. He is your ideal Swiss army knife and physical specimen who will rarely every get outmuscled or outhustled.

So far, Providence and South Carolina have received official visits from Timberlake and while he contemplates his last three visits with schools such as Pitt, Seton Hall, and Alabama, the Tar Heels should have a good chance of landing one.

While Providence is the only school that is on both of their lists as of now, they have taken multiple unofficial visits together, most recently to Pitt and Maryland. Now, the Tar Heels add to the list of schools that want both.

As both enter their final high school season, ranked as the top two prospects in the state, they could wind up playing another couple of years together at whichever college they choose.
