The UNC Basketball program is called a legit contender for a four-star center in the 2020 recruiting class just days after offering him

Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels had a busy weekend and Monday this past week, handing out three offers to players in the 2020 recruiting class.

After watching Hunter Dickinson, Dawson Garcia and Earl Timberlake this past weekend, UNC offered all three recruits on Monday night making them the latest additions to the Tar Heels’ recruiting board for 2020.

UNC already has five-star center Day’Ron Sharpe verbally committed, giving them a dominant post player for the class. But now they are looking to add more and that includes in the post.

The four-star center Dickinson is a Maryland product that stands at 7-foot-2, and 255-pounds holding 20 offers total so far in his recruitment. UNC is the latest team to get in on his recruitment and while others have had the advantage of recruiting him longer, don’t count the Tar Heels out just yet.

Rivals.com recruiting analyst Eric Bossi wrote on Dickinson’s recruitment after his latest offer from UNC and touched on who are the leaders so far. Bossi still thinks the center ends up in the Midwest at a school like Purdue, Notre Dame or Louisville but he also thinks the Tar Heels are a legit contender in the recruitment.

Here is what Bossi wrote on UNC and their chances with Dickinson:

"Do not sleep on Alabama, either, as Dickinson will take an official visit to Tuscaloosa in September. Things changed some on Monday, though, when North Carolina offered. The Tar Heels will have to continue to pursue Dickinson if they want to have a chance in his recruitment, but UNC is now a legitimate suitor for the most polished center in America.I am sticking with the Irish and the Boilermakers as his leaders, but the five-star center has not been willing to show his hand about where he might commit and even when he might make such a decision."

Dickinson has taken a few official visits so far in his recruitment, with one scheduled to Alabama for September. By our count, he has one official left and that could lead him to Chapel Hill.

There is really no timetable for a decision on Dickinson’s recruitment and it will likely last through the Fall and possibly into 2020.

Next. Recruitment is starting to pick up for this four-star wing. dark
