The UNC Basketball program has offered another post player in the 2020 recruiting class on Monday night as Dawson Garcia reveals he’s received an offer from the Tar Heels

Another recruit in the 2020 class now has an offer from the University of North Carolina.

Just a few hours after four-star center Hunter Dickinson announced via Twitter that he had received an offer from the Tar Heels, another post player announced he had an offer as well.

Four-star center/power forward, Dawson Garcia, out of Minnesota took to Twitter on Monday night revealing that he was officially offered by UNC. He becomes the third player to do so today, joining Dickinson and guard Earl Timberlake. Here is what Garcia posted to announce the news:

The 6-foot-11, 220-pound Minnesota native is ranked as the No. 29 recruit in the 247 Sports Composite rankings and No. 4 at the power forward position. The offer from UNC marks 20 total in his recruitment as the Tar Heels join Baylor, Kansas, Texas, Marquette, and Indiana among others to offer him.

It also comes just a few days after head coach Roy Williams traveled to Minnesota to watch Garcia play in the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Showcase, an event that covers two days and features some of the top players in the state. Williams was impressed by what he saw in Garcia and decided to extend an offer.

Monday’s offers to both Garcia and Dickinson show that the Tar Heels are serious about adding another post player to their class.

UNC already has five-star center Day’Ron Sharpe verbally committed but would like to add more to their 2020 class. They have several offers out for wing players but now with two more in the post, there’s a chance UNC could put together a very impressive class. With Garrison Brooks set to be a senior when the 2020 class comes in and Armando Bacot likely gone, UNC could use the help in the post.
