Toronto Raptors sharpshooter and UNC basketball alumni Danny Green put on a show in Game 3 of the NBA Finals Wednesday night.

Former University of North Carolina sharpshooter and national champion Danny Green passed another famous Tar Heel on a prestigious list Wednesday night.

With three 3-point field goals in the first quarter of NBA Finals Game 3, Green passed Hall-of-Famer Michael Jordan — and former San Antonio Spurs great Manu Ginóbili — for ninth-most made 3-pointers in NBA Finals history.

He’s now made 47 in his career, and his mid-week performance against the Golden State Warriors marked the third time in his career that he’s made six or more 3-pointers in a Finals game. It’s also worth nothing that Green has played in at least seven fewer NBA Finals games than any other player in the top-10.

Green scored 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting — all 3-pointers — during the Raptors’ 123-109 victory over the Warriors. He added five rebounds, an assist, a steal, a block and just one turnover in 27 minutes of play. Not only that, but Green’s defense was felt numerous times over the course of the game; none more than his chase-down block on former Duke Blue Devil Quinn Cook.

Despite Green’s recent shooting woes, he’s continued to put shots up from beyond the arc throughout the Raptors’ playoff run. After connecting on just four of his 23 long-range attempts against the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals, Green has hit 11-of-22 in three Finals games.
