Will the UNC Football program land a five-star recruit in the 2020 class? The latest prediction gives them the lead in the Crystal Ball predictor

In just a few months on the job, Mack Brown has done a great job on the recruiting trail with the 2019 and 2020 classes. He oversaw the 2019 class for just a few months but was able to turn it into a respectable one.

His 2020 class currently ranks in the Top 10 and has the potential to be one of the best ones in years for the Tar Heels.

Brown has hit the recruiting trail hard, particularly in-state which was an area Larry Fedora struggled with. Of the 13 verbal commitments in the 2020 class, six of them are from the state of North Carolina and UNC still has a few big targets left from the state in the class.

One of those targets is prized recruit Desmond Evans.

The five-star defensive end is from Sanford, North Carolina and is ranked as the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2020 class.  At 6-foot-6, 238-pounds, Evans is very athletic for his position and could be a game-changer on that defensive line.

UNC is one of the schools showing heavy interest in him and even made his Top 10 list earlier in May. While his recruitment doesn’t appear to be coming to an end anytime soon, UNC appears to be in great shape to land him. Just recently, they picked up another Crystal Ball prediction on 247 Sports, giving them three of the four predictions so far.

The two latest ones come from 247 Sports recruiting insider Clint Brewster who is related to UNC tight ends coach Tim Brewster. The prediction could hint that a decision might be coming this Summer for UNC, which is great news.

UNC also picked up a prediction on Wednesday from JC Shurburtt who covers South Carolina for The Big Spur.

These are only predictions, but it’s a good sign for the Tar Heels who now have the lead in the Crystal Ball predictor at 60%.
