At the time, the fastest point guard Williams recruited. Lawson improved his scoring and 3-point shooting each of his three years at UNC. Lawson is also the only point guard under Williams to win ACC Player of the Year, which resulted in a National Championship for the Tar Heels that year.

Lawson entered his freshman since when one of the talented teams Williams assembled at UNC (at the time.) Backcourt mate Wayne Ellington, big man Brandan Wright, and Deon Thompson. They were all great complements to sophomores Danny Green and Tyler Hansbrough.

Lawson learned the ropes from Bobby Frasor and eventually beat him out for the starting position.

At the time, no Tar Heel fan saw this type of speed, passing, shot-making, all at an elite level along with protecting the basketball.

Lawson was definitely a treat and treated his opponents as SportsCenter Top 10 victims on a weekly basis. Being the only point guard on this list with a National Championship, Cousy, and ACC Player of the year, it’s easy to say that Lawson has the best resume of this bunch.
