A look at the full 2019 ACC Tournament schedule and when the UNC Baseball program will hit the diamond this week

The 2019 college baseball regular season didn’t end the way the North Carolina Tar Heels had hoped for but now they have their sights set on bigger things. This week the Tar Heels will participate in the 2019 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament in hopes of still earning a regional host site in the NCAA Tournament.

Winning their pool and reaching the conference title game on Sunday would go a long way for UNC’s chances to host a regional.

After losing back-to-back conference series to end the year, UNC is going to need to come out and play some of their best baseball of the season. As the No. 5 seed in the tournament, UNC has been paired up with No. 4 Miami and No. 9 Virginia in Pool D.

The three teams will play one another once, a two-game pool play series with the winner advancing to Saturday’s Semifinal.

Here is a look at all of the pools:

Pool A — (1) Louisville, (8) Clemson, (12) Boston College

Pool B — (2) Georgia Tech, (7) Duke, (11) Notre Dame

Pool C — (3) NC State, (6) Florida State, (10) Wake Forest)

Pool D – (4) Miami, (5) UNC, (9) Virginia

The tournament will begin on Tuesday with three games a day in Durham and pool play wrapping up Friday night. As mentioned above, each team will get two games total, one against each of the pool teams with the four winners moving on.

Here is a look at the full schedule with all the times in EST:

The winner receives an automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Tournament but the conference is expected to be well-represented anyways. As it stands now, 7 ACC teams are projected to make the tournament according to Baseball America with four playing host to a regional.

UNC is one of those four teams hosting a regional in the projections but they are currently the No. 16 overall team, the final regional host.
