The UNC Basketball program has officially offered this four-star point guard in the 2020 recruiting class on Thursday night

The big news in college basketball on Thursday was Jalen Wilson decommitting from Michigan and the North Carolina Tar Heels are now rumored to be interested. UNC could still add to their 2019 recruiting class in the form of Wilson or even five-star forward Precious Achiuwa, who is making his decision this weekend.

But that hasn’t stopped Roy Williams and his staff from looking ahead.

On Thursday night, class of 2020 four-star point guard Caleb Love announced via Twitter he’s officially received an offer from North Carolina:

The offer from the Tar Heels is the 24th for the point guard out of St. Louis, Missouri and now he becomes a big target on UNC’s board. The Tar Heels join program such as Indiana, Louisville, Virginia, and Tennessee among others to offer the 6-foot-3 point guard, making his recruitment pretty interesting.

Love enters the AAU Spring circuit as the No. 31-ranked player in the 2020 class and No. 5 at his position per 247 Sports. He’s also ranked as the best player in the state of Missouri.

Williams and the Tar Heels landed a commitment from guards Cole Anthony and Anthony Harris earlier in April but are still looking for a future point guard. Anthony projects to be a one-and-done player while Harris will likely stay at least two years and can play at either guard slot. With the departure of Coby White to the NBA Draft and Seventh Woods transferring, UNC will need to add to their backcourt for the future.

Love has yet to take any official visits in his recruitment but he has taken some unofficials, including to Indiana and Louisville.
