We take a look at where UNC Basketball point guard Coby White is being mocked by media outlets for the 2019 NBA Draft

The 2019 NBA Draft order is set for the most part with just the conference finals participants still needing to be set.

After the NBA hosted its annual Draft Lottery on Tuesday night, the lottery teams found out their position and in what was a shocker, the New Orleans Pelicans will pick No. 1 followed by the Memphis Grizzlies at No. 2, New York Knicks and No. 3 and Los Angeles Lakers at No. 5. All of the attention surrounded the Knicks and the potential to land Zion Williamson but as it stands now, the Pelicans will likely take the former Duke product No. 1 overall.

For former North Carolina point guard Coby White, the drat lottery may have worked out in his favor. Ahead of Tuesday’s NBA Draft Lottery, White was one of three UNC players mocked to go in the top 22 but the only player to be a lottery pick.

Now following Tuesday, White is being mocked even higher than where he was earlier in the week with ESPN having him go No. 10 to Minnesota. But now he could end up in a city where a former Tar Heel great had a legendary career.

As soon as the Chicago Bulls were announced at the No. 7 pick, the connections to White were quickly drawn. The Bulls are looking to move on from Kris Dunn at point guard and will hope to fill that position either with a veteran through trade or a rookie in the draft. They have been tied to Lonzo Ball but now mocks are picking White to land in the Windy City.

But that’s not the only place White is being mocked too. Take a look at the updated mocks for White following the draft lottery:

As you can see, the common teams that White is being mocked to are Chicago, Atlanta and Phoenix. There is one for Minnesota, but it’s hard seeing him fall past one of those three teams mentioned, especially when Atlanta has two picks in the Top 10.

If White lands in Chicago, he can play point guard alongside Zach LaVine who had a breakout season for the Bulls last year. White could be a good compliment to LaVine and give the Bulls another solid scoring threat.

Landing in Phoenix would give the Suns a legit point guard to pair along with Devin Booker who is quickly becoming one of the best scorers in the league.

With Atlanta, White would play alongside point guard Trae Young and would be more of a combo guard at times with the Hawks. If White becomes a legit scoring threat in the NBA, especially from the perimeter, Atlanta could have two of the most dynamic scoring threats from the perimeter for years to come.

From here, White will participate in the 2019 NBA Draft Combine this week in Chicago. He will his chance to impress scouts and meet with NBA teams. White will also meet with teams for private workouts ahead of the draft.
