UNC Basketball: Trio of Tar Heels invited to NBA Draft Combine

Three former UNC Basketball players will participate in the NBA Draft Scouting Combine in Chicago next week
A trio of North Carolina Tar Heels will have a big chance to improve their draft stock in front of NBA scouts next week in Chicago.
On Tuesday Inside Carolina reported that Nassir Little, Coby White and Cam Johnson have been invited and will take part in the 2019 NBA Draft Scouting Combine in Chicago, Illinois from May 14-19th. This will be a big opportunity for the trio to show what they can do among the top prospects for June’s draft.
The event gives prospects the chance to run through drills, play in scrimmages and even meet with some NBA team executives ahead of the NBA draft.
Both White and Little left UNC after just one season, being part of what was a very good 2018 recruiting class for head coach Roy Williams. Little struggled in his freshman season after entering as a Top 3 recruit. Meanwhile, White really emerged as one of the top point guards in this draft class with his play throughout his freshman season.
Johnson played two years at UNC after joining the program as a graduate transfer from Pitt. He played well in his first year but it was the 2018-19 season in which he really showed off his shooting skills. The forward was not only one of the best shooters in the conference but in the entire country.
White has the highest draft projection as it stands now, being mocked in the Lottery while Little is being mocked in the teens and just outside the Lottery. Johnson is projected anywhere from a late first-round pick to a second-round pick.
Luke Maye hasn’t received an invitation to participate but will be one of 40 players to attend the G-League Elite Camp on May 12th. The top performers will invited to the NBA Scouting Combine.
Kenny Williams was recently invited to take part in the Professional Basketball Combine which takes place from May 21-22.
