Jeremiah Francis

A four-star recruit before two knee injuries derailed the end of his high school season, Francis is a bit of a question mark heading into the season.

With a terrific game to his name, Francis committed to North Carolina while bringing expectations of being the point guard of the future. While that can still be the case, he won’t be expected to play major minutes this year with the likes of Cole Anthony, Anthony Harris and Leaky Black able to play the point guard position.

A physical guard, he is still developing his jump shot to be more consistent. His frame at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds allows him to bully smaller guards in the lane and on drives.

Look for Francis to use this year learning the point guard position and playing spot minutes to get experience.

The Pickerington, Ohio native is a former teammate of Sterling Manley in high school, so it’ll be interesting to see if that already good chemistry could develop into something down the line.

I have no doubt he will be a tremendous point guard for Roy Williams and the Tar Heels, assuming his health stays good, but this year may be spent a bit more on the sidelines.
