Don’t be shocked by these teams..

No. 8 Iowa State Cyclones (23-11)

Senior guard Marial Shayok transferred from Virginia to be the lead guy. That’s exactly what he is with the Cyclones, as he leads the team in scoring at 18.6 points per game.

Overall a very impressive Big 12 resume; two wins against Kansas, two wins against Kansas State, and a win against Texas Tech. However, the Cyclones are weak on defense, and could be in trouble if a team catches fire.

No. 7 Wofford Terriers (29-4)

The Terriers are undefeated in 2019! It was a couple of days before Christmas since their last defeat. This is a tremendously exhilarating team. Some have heard of their outstanding shooter, Fletcher Magee who is part of the reason the Terriers shoot 42% from beyond the arc.

They are well coached and really take care of the ball.

No. 6 Utah State Aggies (28-6)

The Aggies shoot the ball well and are a mismatch nightmare for smaller teams. They are led in scoring by the Mountain West player of the year in Sam Merrill at 21.2 points per game and defeated tournament teams like Nevada and Saint Mary’s.

No. 5 Kansas Jayhawks (25-9)

Even though Dedric Lawson is the leader in scoring and rebounding (19.1 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game) they depend heavy on freshmen Quentin Grimes, Devon Dotson, and Ochai Agabji.

A good defensive team, but lack the well-known shooting from Jayhawks past to make a deep run. Even though they are young, wins against Michigan State, Tennessee, and Villanova have prepared them for this moment.
