KIH ranks all 16 teams in the Midwest Region, regardless of seed, as the 2019 NCAA Tournament tips off Thursday

By now, everyone should be in a March Madness pool; whether that’s manually printing out a bracket and filling it out, or joining an internet group on innumerable platforms. Most UNC fans have the Tar Heels winning it all; including the non-biased fans. Even college basketball analyst Jay Bilas predicts UNC as the last team standing on Monday night.

Some say that the Midwest region is the toughest in the tournament. UNC went 16-2 in the ACC, shared a regular season championship, and was just a couple of possessions away from going 3-0 against Duke. Kentucky finished tied for second in the SEC regular season, and has key wins over UNC, Louisville, Kansas, Tennessee and Auburn.

All Houston did was go 31-3 with key wins against Utah State and LSU. The Auburn Tigers gave their best Golden State Warriors impression en route to the SEC Tournament Championship. Kansas, despite being short-handed, was in the running for another Big 12 title, and was the runner-up in the Big 12 Tournament.

That’s just only one-third of the teams in this region. Fans know there’s always a team or two that could go on a magical run. There’s always a double-digit seed that will rise to the occasion, and seize the day. Let’s start from the bottom and work our way up to the best teams in this Midwest Region
