Bracket Busters

The Tar Heels and Wildcats will be the favorites to come out of the Midwest Region and if they meet in the Elite 8, it should be another classic. But this region also has some teams that can really bust your bracket including one program that UNC is familiar with.

(7) Wofford

The Terriers are the most dangerous No. 7 seed in this entire tournament and could be one of the better teams in that seed in a long time. They can flat out shoot the basketball.

Wofford will be a trendy pick in this tournament and they could bust your bracket on the first weekend. If the Terriers get by Seton Hall, they have a legit shot at beating Kentucky. All it takes is another hot-shooting game from a team that made 41.6 percent of their three-pointers, second best in the NCAA, this season.

A win by Wofford would really screw up a lot of brackets

(11) Ohio State

Okay, Ohio State isn’t traditionally a team that you would classify as a “bracket buster” but this year is a little different. This team was ranked No. 15 in December but hit a skid, losing 6 of 7 at one point in the season.

There is talent on this Buckeyes’ team and it wouldn’t shock us if they made a run. Their first round game is against No. 6 Iowa State, which really doesn’t have anyone that scares you on the offensive end. If the Buckeyes can clamp down defensively, they could pull off the first round upset.

If the Buckeyes do beat Iowa State, they will have their shot at busting brackets with a matchup likely against No. 3 Houston.
