The rebuild

G – Seventh Woods
G – Leaky Black
F – Brandon Robinson
F – Garrison Brooks
C – Armando Bacot

This scenario is the one that North Carolina fans definitely don’t want to see happen in Chapel Hill next season.

This version of the 2019-20 Tar Heels is one that loses both Coby White and Nassir Little to the NBA, and doesn’t feature talented freshman guard Cole Anthony. Anthony chooses Oregon or another of his six finalists over North Carolina, and leaves the Tar Heels in a bind at the point guard position.

Seventh Woods is a senior now, and moves into the starting point guard role in his final year of college eligibility. Leaky Black takes up a starting role, too, along with Brandon Robinson and freshman big man Armando Bacot.

Perhaps, the most consistent piece of this UNC lineup is junior forward Garrison Brooks, whose contributions in his second year as a full-time starter at North Carolina help navigate the Tar Heels through a bumpy conference season in a top-heavy Atlantic Coast Conference.

The star-power would be gone. Much of the athleticism and explosiveness would be gone, too. It would undoubtedly be a rebuilding season for the Tar Heels, who failed to snag every 5-star target on their recruiting radar other than Bacot.

Roy Williams and company would be hoping for a tremendous haul on the recruiting trail in the class of 2020, in hopes of bringing the Tar Heels back to the forefront of the ACC, and the rest of the nation.
