The UNC Basketball program lands three players on the All-ACC teams this season including a First Team selection by a senior

A trio of North Carolina Tar Heels are being honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference after their fantastic regular seasons in 2018-19.

Just a few days after the Tar Heels completed their season sweep over Duke in the Dean Dome, seniors Cam Johnson and Luke Maye as well as freshman Coby White were named to the All-ACC Teams by a panel of writers on Monday.

Johnson was named to the All-ACC First Team, the lone Tar Heel on that team after his impressive season with UNC. The graduate transfer from Pitt was the fourth-leading vote getter among those on the First Team. Johnson led the Tar Heels with  16.8 points per game, drained 83 three-pointers, shot 47 percent from the three-point line and had 40 steals.

After making the First Team last season, Maye was named to the All-ACC Second Team in his senior year.

Maye received the sixth-most votes overall for any player in the conference after averaging 14.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season. The senior is also second in the ACC with 13 double-doubles on the year and is on pace to average a double-double for the second-straight season.

White, a freshman out of Wilson, has been overshadowed by Duke’s trio of talented freshmen but has broken out in a big way for the Tar Heels. He’s set new records with the most 30-plus point games by a freshman in UNC history and the most three-pointers made in a freshman season for the program.

His efforts this year have earned him a spot on the All-ACC Second Team as well as the All-Freshman year. White is averaging 16.3 points and 4.1 assists per game this season overall but leads the Tar Heels with 18.1 points per game in conference play.

With Johnson making the All-ACC First Team, he becomes the 78th player in program history to do so, which is the most in league History.
