The UNC Football program is hosting a big recruiting event on campus this weekend including welcoming back former players.

Mack Brown has done wonders for the North Carolina Tar Heels’ football recruiting since he took over for his second stint back in November of 2018. The head coach put together a Top 40 recruiting class for 2019 despite only having full control of it for just a few months prior to National Signing Day.

He’s already put together a good start to the 2020 recruiting class, landing verbal commitments form six players including three four-star recruits. This weekend, Brown and his staff are hoping to add to that class.

The Tar Heels will host a big recruiting weekend for the 2020 class as “Junior Day” takes place in Chapel Hill.

Recruits will be on campus for unofficial visits to the event as Brown and his staff are hoping to help gain some traction with recruits. This isn’t unusual for the Tar Heels to do as they have hosted a few different weekends like this in the past but this will be the first “Junior Day” for Brown in his new tenure as head coach.

With the weekend beginning in Chapel Hill, several recruits from both the 2020-2021 classes are already on campus:

2020

2021

2022

There are expected to be at least 40-50 recruits on campus for the big weekend, with many being revealed as the event goes on. That includes players that are already committed to the program including West, Grier, Burris and more.

In addition to recruits being on campus, UNC will also welcome back former players.

Brown continues to reconnect former players with the program as well as new recruits the Tar Heels are targeting. Among those returning is Tre Boston, Eric Ebron, Mack Hollins, Ryan Switzer, T.J. Logan, Nazair Jones, and Sylvester Williams per Inside Carolina.
