The UNC Basketball program will receive a visit from a big five-star recruit in the 2019 class and he’s scheduled to be on campus for the season finale

The North Carolina Tar Heels are riding high after their big win over No. 1 Duke in Durham on Wednesday night, and rightfully so. UNC is now tied atop the Atlantic Coast Conference standings with the Blue Devils and Virginia.

The rematch between Duke and North Carolina will take place on March 9th in Chapel Hill and it’s very possible that the matchup could determine the ACC regular season title. Or at least a share of it.

But when the Tar Heels and Blue Devils meet again in the Dean Dome, there will be at least one big recruiting target in the building.

According to 247 Sports’ Evan Daniels, class of 2019 five-star forward Precious Achiuwa  will officially visit UNC for their game on March 9 against Duke. Daniels reported the news on Thursday afternoon as Achiuwa’s recruitment is starting to heat up.

In addition to visiting the Tar Heels, Achiuwa will also visit Kansas on Monday for their rivalry game against Kansas State which will be a huge game for the Big 12 standings.

Achiuwa is considering UNC, Kansas, Connecticut, Memphis, Georgia, Western Kentucky, St. John’s, Florida State and UCLA in his recruitment. The Tar Heels recently got heavily involved a few months back and offered him a scholarship in late December.

A few months later, they appear to be in the race and are now getting an official visit.

The five-star recruit hasn’t scheduled any other visits as of yet aside from Kansas and UNC but does have some unofficial visits coming up according to Daniels. He’s in no rush to make a decision yet with a realistic timeline set for April.

This is significant news for UNC’s 2019 recruiting class as Roy Williams is still hoping to add a player on the wing. He has center Armando Bacot and point guard Jeremiah Francis signed, while still in the running for Cole Anthony, Matthew Hurt and Keion Brooks.
