The North Carolina Tar Heels will make a game-time decision on freshman Nassir Little for Saturday’s game at Wake Forest

It’s possible that the North Carolina Tar Heels could be without key freshman Nassir Little when they travel to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest on Saturday.

During Monday’s loss at home against Virginia, Little went down with an ankle injury after stepping on a foot. He went back to the locker room early in the first half and didn’t return as UNC fell to Virginia, ending their seven-game win streak.

The Tar Heels had a few days off in between games, giving Little the chance to rest that ankle some before Saturday’s matchup with Wake.

On Friday, UNC head coach Roy Williams held his press conference to discuss that game and was asked about Little’s status. He revealed that Little has been practicing and following Friday’s practice, Williams has determined that the freshman will be a game-time decision:

Little didn’t require a walking boot which is a great sign but any sort of discomfort will likely force him out of Saturday’s game.

The Tar Heels could also play it safe by not playing Little, risking further injury, and instead get him healthy for Wednesday’s game at Duke.  But Little isn’t the only UNC player that could miss Saturday’s game.

Williams also announced during his press conference that sophomore Sterling Manley and fellow Rechon “Leaky” Black will also miss the game.

Manley has been out since late December with a knee injury but has recently gone through pregame warmups and was on the bench in his uniform for Monday’s game. Black has been out for the past four games after suffering an injury in the win over Louisville. The freshman hasn’t practiced since then and it appears as if he will be out for an extended amount of time.
